Iowa's governor said felons could vote again after prison, probation and parole, meaning there are no states left that ban ex-convicts from voting for life. But that doesn't mean it's easy for them to cast ballots in a lot of places.
States across the South are especially reluctant, for example, to take fear of going to the polls during the pandemic too seriously. Most recently, Tennessee's top court ruled this week that fear of catching Covid-19 isn't a good enough reason to request an absentee ballot. In Louisiana, a lawsuit was filed to allow the same reasoning to vote-by-mail. Magic 8 ball says: Outlook not so good.
Minnesota eased up on its witness requirement for absentee ballots through the fall. And Pennsylvania is covering the stamp for everyone who decides to vote by mail.
Despite the fact that a plenty of people under 35 have spent most (if not all) of their adult lives with access to endless information, less than half of them have any idea how to actually vote by mail, according to a new poll. LMGTFY.
