Democracy For All 2021 invites you to join former Obama speechwriter and New York Times bestselling author David Litt for a discussion on his new book, "Democracy In One Book or Less," with Planned Parenthood Action Fund National Political Director Yasmin Radjy.

Through a comedic lens, Litt's book points to the distressing number of ways in which an unrepresentative, gerrymandered system has created a democracy in crisis. Litt offers unique insight on how President Trump, Senate Republicans, and their allies have drastically changed our system of government over the course of our lifetimes, and the ways we can fight back. The book, published last month, has been called "Schoolhouse Rock for our current political moment" and is especially critical reading leading up to November's election.

We know that most Americans have reached consensus on issues from healthcare and policing to gun violence and reproductive rights, yet a rigged system prevents us from enacting change. In this discussion, Litt will address the barriers to progressive policy alongside Radjy, an active leader in the democracy reform space.
