'Purple: America We Need to Talk.' Virtual Film Screening and Interactive Conversation
Organizer:League of Women Voters and Ferguson Library (Stamford, Conn.)
In the midst of one of the most weighty and charged elections in our history and at a time of immense division in our country, the League of Women Voters and Ferguson Library invite you to a special virtual community screening and interactive discussion of Resetting the Table's new film "Purple: America, We Need To Talk."
Filmed in rural Wisconsin and Iowa, two swing states where "red" and "blue" Americans still live in the same neighborhoods and where many people feel unrepresented by the two-party system, "Purple" tells the story of Americans with opposing viewpoints addressing their differences head-on and discovering the concerns and humanity that lie behind each other's positions. Created by political mediation organization Resetting the Table in partnership with Emmy-award-winning production firm Transient Pictures, "Purple" models a rare conversation that uplifts and inspires even while going toward the heat of passionate political differences.
