Finding Common Ground on the New Cold War: General David Petraeus & Ambassador Susan Rice
Organizer: Common Ground Committee
As global tensions rise, join two icons of foreign policy to explore ways to find common ground.
Common Ground Committee, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering civil public discourse in politics, is thrilled to partner with the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University to welcome General David H. Petraeus (US Army, Retired) and Ambassador Susan E. Rice to a public forum on global relations. As a Director of the CIA and one of America's most prominent military figures of the post-9/11 era, Petraeus led the way in the global war on terror. As United States National Security Advisor (2013-2017) and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (2009-2013), Rice shaped foreign policy and promoted human rights. As tensions with China, North Korea, Russia and the Middle East continue to rise, join these two icons of foreign policy for a candid conversation on how we can continue to find common ground on the new Cold War.
Location: George Mason University, Johnson Center – Dewberry Hall, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA
