Brian Clancy, co-founder of the Bridge Alliance’s signature Citizen Connect project, had the wonderful opportunity to interview Sara Gifford on. Feb 15 for the CityBiz “Meet the Change Leaders” series.
Gifford is the co-founder and chief operating officer of ActiVote, which is changing the way citizens engage with their government. Its easy-to-use nonpartisan app educates voters on important issues, informs them when and where they can cast their vote, connects them with their elected officials, and allows them to make their voice heard by quickly answering key polling questions.
She believes our democracy is at its best when as many people as possible participate. ActiVote empowers all Americans to be active in our democracy by helping voters create a voting habit. It focuses on empowering low-propensity voters by providing easy access to election information and what candidates really stand for, while filtering out all the noise.
With ActiVote’s #DailyDemocracy program you can increase your civic engagement day by day, through small actions, to maintain that positive habit. By helping more Americans engage regularly across the country, ActiVote is having a huge impact on our democracy.
Watch the interview to learn the full extent of Gifford’s remarkable work and perhaps you’ll become more civically engaged as well.
