Nevada Assembly passes same-day voter registration

The Nevada Assembly on Tuesday passed legislation allowing residents to register to vote on Election Day, as part of a broader measure that expands early voting and provides for online registration.

The sweeping reform package, Assembly Bill 345, now heads to the Senate, which – like the Assembly and governor's seat – is controlled by Democrats.

If adopted, Nevada would become the 17th state to allow voters to register and cast a ballot on Election Day.
