Video: Pearce Godwin of Listen First Project discusses Listen First on CSPAN

Godwin breaks down the current state of American democracy and how Listen First seeks to help

Most Americans are tired of the division and dysfunction that is rampant across our country. So many of us want peace in our families, calm in our communities, unity in our country, and solutions to our problems.

While we are so often consumed with the vitriol and anger in the media, the good news is that as the personal pain and national fear caused by toxic polarization increases, so too is momentum around a burgeoning bridging divides movement.

This might sound like a fantasy but there is real hope and opportunity with hundreds of efforts bringing people together, to turn down the heat and find a way forward.

One such organization is Listen First Project, an organization that elevates the impact of the movement to bridge divides in America. They connect the efforts of 500 Listen First Coalition partners bringing people together across divides while also managing national strategies and campaigns toward social cohesion and collaboration.

On Sunday, August 20,Pearce Godwin, the founder and CEO of Listen First Project appeared on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal along with Peter Coleman, author of “The Way Out - How to Overcome Toxic Polarization” to explain their work and answer questions.

They spent an insightful hour talking about how to overcome political polarization going into the presidential campaign season.
